In last week’s presentation, Dr. Wu DC went over the importance of Omega 6: to Omega 3 ratio.
Average Americans have consumed way too much omega 6 (such as corn, soy, vegetable oil) and not enough of Omega 3 (such as flax, EPA and DHA from fish). Omega 6, when ingested, would convert into a pro-inflammatory chemical substance called PGE 2; as compared to Omega 3, when ingested would convert into anti-inflammatory PGE 3.
The optimal ratio between Omega 6: Omega 3 should be 2:1.  Symptoms might start appearing when the ratio has elevated to 10:1 or above.  Some of the common symptoms might include but not limited to pain, arthritis, autoimmune disorders, dementia or even cancer. It is recommended supplementing with high-quality omega 3 daily to keep the ratio down for better health.
